Enhanced binding for N -particle system interacting with a scalar bose field I

چکیده
An enhanced binding of an N -particle system interacting through a scalar bose field is investigated, where N ≥ 2. It is not assumed that this system has a ground state for a zero coupling. It is shown, however, that there exists a ground state for a sufficiently large values of coupling constants. When the coupling constant is sufficiently large, N particles are bound to each other by the scalar bose field, and are trapped by external potentials. Basic ideas of the proofs in this paper are applications of a weak coupling limit and a modified HVZ theorem.

متن کاملScaling Limits for the System of Semi-Relativistic Particles Coupled to a Scalar Bose Field
In this paper the Hamiltonian for the system of semi-relativistic particles interacting with a scalar bose field is investigated. A scaled total Hamiltonian of the system is defined and its scaling limit is considered. Then the semi-relativistic Schrödinger operator with an effective potential is derived.
متن کاملStability and Absence of Binding for Multi-polaron Systems
We resolve several longstanding problems concerning the stability and the absence of multi-particle binding for N ≥ 2 polarons. Fröhlich’s 1937 polaron model describes non-relativistic particles interacting with a scalar quantized field with coupling √ α, and with each other by Coulomb repulsion of strength U . We prove the following: (i) While there is a known thermodynamic instability for U <...
متن کاملGround State for Point Particles Interacting Through a Massless Scalar Bose Field
We consider a massless scalar Bose field interacting with two particles, one of them infinitely heavy. Neither an infrared nor an ultraviolet cutoff is imposed. In case the charge of the particles is of the same sign and sufficiently small, we prove the existence of a ground state.
متن کاملEffective dynamics for particles coupled to a quantized scalar field
We consider a system of N non-relativistic spinless quantum particles (“electrons”) interacting with a quantized scalar Bose field (whose excitations we call “photons”). We examine the case when the velocity v of the electrons is small with respect to the one of the photons, denoted by c (v/c = ε ≪ 1). We show that dressed particle states exist (particles surrounded by “virtual photons”), which...
